skyline 2On your next vacation you can relax, take a deep breath and recharge.  We all get caught up working our files, giving clients our best service, and closing the deal.  However, as people say, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy (or Jill a dull girl).

Recently, I had the opportunity to fly to Halifax, N.S. for a law school friend’s wedding.  Since I was going to be on the East coast of Canada, I took a week to play tourist and see the sights.  Hopewell Rocks? Check. Peggy’s Cove? Check. Confederation Bridge? Check.

I also found out much of Cape Breton does not have cell service.  This little surprise gave me anxiety.  After all, I have a small business to run, clients to service and lawyers to help!  Then, I found myself standing at the edge of the world on the Skyline Hike in Cape Breton, N.S.  It was beautiful.  Ocean cliffs surrounding a valley of yellow, orange and red trees.  A bright sky, fresh ocean air and the sound of waves crashing in the background. This place actually has seasons.  For that moment in time, work was nothing.

Now, back in the city.  I am recharged and ready to continue building the Brolly Legal Recruitment start-up.  In work, recent successes motivate us all to continue building our futures.  Vacations have a place too, as they can recharge your goals.
